Who are the Creative K Kids?

Kaylin, Karis, Kristi, and Kiley:  4 girls all starting with the letter K! Thus the idea was born!  The Creative K Kids!

I am your every day mom trying to raise five children and juggle my many hats. I married the only man I ever dated 14 years ago, and he is a wonderful husband and a terrific daddy. We have five children together–Kaylin, Karis, Kristi, Joshua, and Kiley. 101_57384.jpg

My 10 year old daughter is the inspiration for this blog. She likes to write and asked me if we could do a blog together. Knowing that this activity will be a “together” project gave me enough encouragement to try to figure out this “blogging world.” So far, I have enjoyed the adventure, as it has forced me to include my children in my every day activities and made me more focused on taking pictures of my children. I realize I only have them for a short time, and I need to make every moment count–but you know as well as I do, how busy this world gets and how easy it is to get distracted with life’s activities.

Many of the blog posts will be written by yours truly, but Kaylin, my ten year old, will also be doing her share of writing. My desire is to get my other children involved as they get older. All of our blog posts will revolve around activities happening in our family’s every-day life. Many of the posts (such as Tasty Tuesdays and Freezer Fridays) will deal with food–food is a big deal in our family! Make-it Mondays will showcase our crafty side. To tell the truth, I do not feel very crafty, but I definitely am frugal! So we will write about some of our simple gifts we have made–or some of the DIY household helps we have discovered. Another biggie in our house is books! We have at least one bookshelf in every room of our house. Therefore, books will be discussed on Wordy Wednesdays. Either Kaylin will give a report on one the  books she is reading, or I will showcase one of our favorite children’s books. I do not believe you will learn any thing startling on Thrifty Thursdays, but we will share some simple ideas on how children can have fun with free or relatively cheap items.  On Scattered Saturdays, we will write about whatever strikes our fancy–snacky or surplus food items or something that is going on in our lives.

Last, but not least, I would love to be able to work up a Sanctified Sundays post. This would just be a devotional post on the Scripture I am studying that week. I am really doing this only for my sake. As an assistant pastor’s wife and a mom of five children ages 2-10 who also babysits on the side, I have often neglected my personal, spiritual walk with Christ, I know, that if am to be the mom and wife that Christ would have me to be, that this needs to be my number one priority; therefore, I am praying that this will be the push I need to keep my priorities right and will invigorate my relationship with my Savior.
I know that I will probably not be able to do a post every day, but these are the categories they will fall under. I am open to any suggestions, and I pray that I can be an encouragement to any who read this blog, and that many friendships may be made. Tammy

One of my favorite verses that I pray will be representative of this blog:
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.
Psalm 19:14

Yay! I love it! Love the pictures, and you look wonderful, Tammy! I need a new adjective, but I also LOVE the alliterated ideas! Great job! Maybe I’ll steal some of your ideas for your daily posts. I’m sure I’ll glean from your foody posts. Keep it up!

I did try to blog every day the other week, and I think I managed 4-5 days, and one of them was my wordless Wednesday. It was exhausting! I think 2-3 times a week is pretty good! 🙂

    • I don’t think I’ll keep it up–it does take a lot of time. But I do need to get some posts on the blog. Just on the days I post they’ll go under those ideas–most of the time. That’s what’s nice about a blog–you can do what you want.
